The shot was very challenging considering the time of day and no tripod. The analougous greens and yellow/oranges play nicely together adding interest to the shot with the blues of the trunk adding their own touch. The work might have benefited from a sharp focal point. Had one of the leaves in the upper right been in sharp detail it would have attracted the eye then caused it to wander. Another thing that might have added to this shot would be clear view of the trunk. The line is broken by the leaves and allows the eye to get off track and lost rather than follow.
Thanks for your kind words. I really wanted the leaf in sharper focus. I can think now of a couple things I could have done to take a better shot. I cannot use my monopod to shoot straight up, but I could have laid on the ground on my back to steady the shot more. I would also have gotten more of the trunk that way. Maybe next time...
